Backend Developer (Python/Django) – AI & Gait Analysis

Your Task

  • Develop and continuously improve the backend of our native app for AI-supported gait analysis using Python and Django, contributing to secure, scalable, and maintainable backend systems.
  • Implement technical requirements in collaboration with experienced developers, contribute to the ongoing development of the backend, and support the refinement of requirements into clear, implementation-ready development tickets.
  • Develop and integrate interfaces with external healthcare systems, third-party services, and APIs, applying technical standards and best practices and contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes.
  • Write automated tests, participate in code reviews, maintain reliable version control, and support the further development of CI/CD, monitoring, and release processes.
  • Take regulatory, data protection, and cybersecurity requirements into account when implementing technical solutions and support the creation of technical and regulatory documentation.
  • Work closely with experienced developers as well as Product Management, Quality Management, Regulatory Affairs, and Development, and support audits, security assessments, penetration tests, and approval processes.

Your Qualifications

  • Several years of professional software development experience, ideally in medical software, digital health applications, or Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).
  • Good practical knowledge of Python and Django, as well as experience with PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and basic authentication and authorization concepts; experience with React or comparable modern frontend technologies is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of software architectures, scalable systems, secure coding, and maintainable technical solutions, as well as initial experience with CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and code reviews.
  • Knowledge of DiGA, MDR, GDPR, BSI, data protection, and cybersecurity, ideally combined with initial experience integrating external healthcare systems, third-party services, or APIs.
  • Independent and structured working style, with a willingness to take on technical responsibility and continuously develop professionally.
  • Enjoyment of collaborating with other developers and participating in technical exchange and constructive code reviews, along with good English communication skills; German skills are an advantage.
